Fairness Doctrine

I'll keep my post short. I don't think the FD would work today just because most political campaigning these days involves mud-slinging and personal attacks between the 2 (or more) candidates whether it be for President of the United States, or for President of the National Squirel Foundation.

It worked during the old school days of political advertising where opposing candidates spent air time telling people why they would be a better candidate for the position whereas these days candidates only say why their opponent shouldn't be elected.
