FAIR USE

I beleieve that fair use is a "valid exscuse" to get out of a libel suit. Not only do i believe this, i know this. Someone can be rightfully sued for libel if they violate copyright laws. Legally, copyright law is not violated if fair use is properly applied or present. Therefore, fair use is a "valid exscuse" to get out of a libel suit. It is pretty cut and dry. It is valid, because the law says so. Is the law a good one or is this law fair? Well, that is an entirley different question. But in terms of its validity, the answer is yes, it is valid.
