Video News Releases

I don't think that VNRs are ethical. Simply put, it is using the work of others and claiming it as theirs. These videos are created for publicity and not for informational purposes for the public. VNRs are used for advertising purposes. I think it is wrong to make people think otherwise.
At first i didn't think that VNRs really existed until I read the articles and the statistics. It does create lazy jounalism. I was shocked to find out that this is not only done to cut back on costs for editing because larger markets do this also.
It's stuff like this that makes journalists look bad. If news stations can't even do what they're supposed to do, then what exactly are they doing. It just seems that there's always a short cut to everything. It's just pure laziness.
